TopShop Moondance Swatch

About a month ago I went up to Auckland to see the show Wicked (which by the way was friggin awesome) and while I was up there I went to Top Shop. They sell these Top Shop polishes down here in Wellington at Karen Walker as well but you know when you’re on holiday and you just buy things that you might normally not buy, just because? Yeah this is one of those situations..

I got two polishes which were $15.00 each and this one is called Moondance which is a silver/blue holo. It is so pretty! I was tossing up whether I should get this or not at the time as I don’t really have many holos, I just don’t picture myself wearing them a lot – too big a fan of cremes.. Hehe.

This took three coats and lasted pretty well. The shine and holo change is so much more dramatic in real life but the photos show it pretty well! It can be a bit streaky and tricky (as I hear a lot of holos in general are..) but three coats seemed to even it out well.

Swatch: OPI Suzi’s Hungary Again

Just a quiet Saturday night in for me I’m afraid. Well, actually it’s refreshingly relaxing. That’s what weekends are actually for, am I right?! As much as I like going out and socialising (as we call it these days) I love just blobbing at home and catching up on the blogs etcetera.

Anyhow, as you may know, I purchased quite a few OPI polishes from the Euro Centrale collection recently. I decided to swatch Suzi’s Hungary Again which is a pretty medium pink with a tiny bit of shimmer in it. In the bottle you can see the shimmer but on the nail (and might I add, in photos of the bottle) you can’t really see it that much. I really like this pink! It’s perfect for spring.

The formula is great and pretty much what you would expect. Two coats and top coat is what you see here. Speaking of which I really need a new top coat! I’m hoping to get my hands on some Seche Vite one of these days. Also, can you tell that I tried squaring off my nail tips? I’m not sure on this shape yet.. I’ve always been such a fan of a really rounded tip!

Red glitter nails with hearts

Oh, happy Friday to you all! Woo! Hope you all have great weekends planned, whatever you are getting up to. I love lazy weekends but, sadly, this weekend will be a busy one for me. Sigh, oh well.

I decided to try out a Kleancolor polish (I am pretty sure it is called Red Sparkle) that I picked up at my local dollar type store. It’s a pretty dark red with lots of glitter through it. It reminds me of a jelly sandwich but without the need to do the layers yourself. I used two coats then used a white polish with a dotting tool to make different sized love hearts. Later, I used Revlon Jelly to colour some of the hearts in. I love this type of cute manicure!
